Is there a specific set of keys to tune marching quad and quint drums?
My youth groups drum corp has a tri-tom and a quint-tom. They are different brands and ages. I was going to tune them to sound like each other, but was wondering if there is a specific set of keys (like C, C#, Eflat, etc) that the different sizes are supposed to be.
well although going by a tuning standard is my suggestion, I would recommend asking your band/drumline director on how he/she wants them to sound. not saying that you or your section buddies don’t know enough, its just that the director probably knows more. when i say knows more i mean about the song and what would sound best for the song and band as a whole.
