I am thinking about buying some stainless All-Clad?
I hear great things about them, is there anyone with anything bad to say about them? Are there any precautions I should take with the stainless; not using a dishwasher, steel wool? Lastley when the are counting the pieces in a set, does a lid count as its own piece?
A lid does count as part of a set. All Clad is good cookware. You can put stainless cookware in the dishwasher, although it is not as good for it as handwashing. If you use it correctly, stainless isn’t any harder to keep clean as anodized (non-stick). Bed Bath and Beyond sells both the sets and individual pieces of All-Clad and they have a satisfaction guarentee, so if you get it, use it, and don’t like it, you are able to return it and try something else. (You can also use the 20% coupon, which saves a bunch). I would also recommend trying Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Cookware. It is similar to the all-clad, but a little less expensive and I love the way it cooks!! If you have any other questions, just let me know! Good luck!
