If 1/2 a loaf of bread is cut into 8 equal slices, what fraction is each slice of the original loaf?
Is the answer 8/16?

You could also look at the problem a little different. Since you are only cutting one half of the loaf into eight peices. Cut the other half into 8 peices as well. Now you have 16 total peices and one peice is 1/16 of the loaf. Different approach, hope it helps
