Would you use a cast iron dutch oven on your glass top range?
Just purchased a cast iron dutch oven (the one without the enamel coating) and read online it’s not safe on glass top range.
What do you think??
The problem with the non-enamel post is that it can cause serious scratching to the cook top, or even breakage. I currently am using a glass cook top in the home I am living in. My housemates and I, all use caste iron skillets on this top, and so far, after four months of use, we have not had any problems so far. It maybe a matter of being extra cafeful with the pot, but it may also have to do with how hot the pot gets or the weight of the pot on the glass.
With the expense of a glass cook top, if it were my stove, I would be inclined to swap my pots for the enamel covered ones, which seem to be alright for these tops. The enamel greatly reduces the chances of scratching the surface.
